NetZero Buildings are thrilled to have had 8 apprentices start with us over the last month in a brand new training initiative, all of whom will be training in the Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) qualification alongside Cambridge Regional College. This is an exciting first step for NZB as we commit to training and educating individuals whilst working as part of the new NZB Academy.
These 8 internal employee apprentices will soon be joined by a second group in December, and a group of external applicants in January.
Apprentices at NZB will be focusing on crucial tasks such as making and installing fixtures like doors, stairs and window frames, and cutting and shaping floorboards and roof timbers. Sitting within the manufacturing team, they'll also be responsible for the assembly and installation of manufactured components to agreed design specification and tolerance. The apprenticeship scheme is a great opportunity to mix with all areas of the business including architects, plant operators, health and safety team, site managers, construction managers and other trades. At the end of the 18 month scheme, NZB hopes to be able to give permanent jobs to some of the apprentices, and can then support further development with specific trades, such as carpentry.
We'd like to wish our new apprentices the very best of luck in their new journey with Team NZB!
